If this summer you drop by one of the 97 National Paradores of Spain, in the wine list you will find a very special guest. It is our Pasión de Bobal, the only rosé selected for the summer campaign of this network of hotel establishments that have high-level restaurants. The wine has been described as “a finding in the market” by the tasting panel that makes this type of decision, and enters into the wines selected by the sommelier. Only three wines from all of Spain have been selected.
The rosés are wines that are gaining strength and, in this case, Pasión de Bobal rosé is a very special wine that begins to stand out from its pale color, a detail in which we were pioneers, since the rosés of Bobal offered a much higher color. It also offers intense aromas of red fruit and rose petals, and on the palate it has structure, it is tasty and has a balanced acidity, factors that make it an agile, lively and very fruity wine.
The expressiveness of this wine is given by the quality of the grape with which it is made, since the vineyards are in the highest wine-growing area of the Utiel-Requena region, where the 900 meters of altitude are exceeded. This helps the ripening to be slower and the temperatures between day and night to be more extreme, which influences the character and quality of the grape, aspects that in turn are felt in the wine.
The current vintage, 2017, has been recognized with the gold medal in the Challenge International du Vin, in Bordeaux, one of the most relevant and demanding at international level.
As many of you already know, Pasión de Bobal rosé is part of the Pasión family of wines, which also has the renowned Pasión de Bobal red, Pasión de Moscatel dry and Pasión de Monastrell. All of them monovarietal wines made with the most relevant grape varieties of the Spanish Mediterranean.
