If this summer you are planning to visit any of the restaurants of the Paradores de Turismo in Spain, you should know that Pasión de Bobal red wine will be waiting for you to accompany your meal.
Our most awarded wine has been added to the exclusive wine list for the summer season at Paradores. It is the only Valencian wine that has been selected in the red wine category, where only three wines have reached the final. The selection process, which lasted three months, was strict and demanding. The wines had to pass the quality parameters set by Paradores in a blind tasting.
Therefore, you will be able to enjoy Pasión de Bobal in the Paradores de Turismo from the 1st of July until the 30th of September 2022. We have also obtained this privilege in previous seasons with Pasión de Bobal rosé and Equilibrio Sauvignon Blanc. In addition, the permanent wine list of Paradores also includes our Bercial Ladera Los Cantos wine, the only one selected in its category and with the best overall score, within the tender ‘wine regions of Spain’ held last year.
This is the Valencian red wine Pasión de Bobal
Pasión de Bobal is a single varietal of the most symbolic variety of Utiel-Requena, the Bobal. It is made with grapes from old vineyards of more than 60 years of organic farming. The wine is aged for 6 months in French oak barrels.
Pasión de Bobal, which was launched 12 years ago, has not stopped winning awards since its first vintage. In fact, it has recently been selected as the best wine of the Comunitat Valenciana in the PROAVA contest. The 2020 vintage, which is the one that will be at Paradores, has already won two awards, a gold medal at the Gilbert Gaillard competition and a silver medal at the Mundus Vini awards. The wine also stands out in the Penin Guide with 90 points and in the Verema DNA Guide with 91 points.
The menus of the Parador restaurants have numerous dishes to pair perfectly with Pasión de Bobal. To enjoy it to the full, we suggest pairing it with hearty dishes, such as red meat, game, duck, as well as strong cheeses, pâtés, rice dishes and pasta with sauce. It is also great with spoon dishes.
