Happy! So we are… Because our wine Bercial Blanco Selección has been chosen by the DOP Utiel-Requena as one of the wines selected to represent the denomination of origin throughout the year 2022. The selection has been made by blind tasting by the DO’s tasting panel.

It is not the first time that our wines have been selected by the DOP Utiel-Requena in this competition, other wines such as Pasión de Bobal, have had this honour and have also repeated for several years, and it is something we are very proud of!

The wine selected this year, Bercial Blanco Selección, is a very special wine. It is a plot wine, which means that the grapes used to make it are the best from the best plots in our vineyards, which means exceptional quality. Three varietals have been chosen, which are perfectly blended during the winemaking process: Chardonnay (45%), Sauvignon Blanc (40%) and Macabeo (15%). Another of its distinctive signs that make it a different white wine is its ageing in French oak barrels for 3 months, something very unusual in whites. Of course, like all our wines, Bercial Blanco Selección is organic and vegan.

In the tasting, this wine presents an excellent combination of citric aromas, white flowers and soft toasted hints. In the mouth it is ample, enveloping and creamy, as a result of its time in oak barrels. It also has a balanced acidity that gives it freshness and an interesting persistence.
