We join the #MovimientoVinoDOP

This year the #MovimientoVinoDO initiative was launched for the first time, promoted by the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) to value the quality wine associated with the many Denominations of Origin in Spain.

And from Bodega Sierra Norte we wanted to be present at that celebration and participate in the collective toast that was organized throughout Spain, because we are a winery that works with different Protected Designations of Origin, specifically with the DOP Utiel-Requena, Valencia, Jumilla and Alicante, in addition to the IGP Vino de la Tierra de Castilla.

The wines that we make under the umbrella of the PDO Utiel-Requena and Valencia come from the vineyards we have in Camporrobles, where we have our origin and most of the vineyard. Here born Pasión de Bobal red and rosé, and Pasión de Moscatel. Also Cerro Bercial Ladera Los Cantos and Cerro Bercial Blanco Selección, Mariluna and Fuenteseca.

In Jumilla also we have vineyard, until there we went to look for an excellent grape of Monastrell, and we found it, so we stayed. And in addition to the vineyard, we also have a processing winery, from which the brand Equilibrio is born, formed by young Equilibrio, Equilibrio 4 and Equilibrio 9, all three of the Jumilla DOP. And also Pasión de Monastrell, hosted to the PDO Alicante.

And lastly we are talking about the wines that are hosted by the IGP Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla: 1564 and Olcaviana, a large family of six wines of which we highlight one, Olcaviana Merlot, recently awarded in the contest ‘Excelencia Wines of Albacete’. These wines are made in La Roda (Castilla-La Mancha), another project that we embarked a few years ago, because…

… we love to look for vineyards, terroirs and climates that allow us to do what we like, high quality wine.
