We are celebrating. Yes! Because the gold medals in the Challenge Millésime Bio contest are quoted and much, and even so, our organic Mariluna white wine has achieved one of the only three gold medals obtained by Valencian wines. But not only that, Mariluna red has also obtained a medal, in his case, a silver medal.
Both awards will be collected in a few days in Montpellier, since the delivery is made in the wine room that organizes the contest, the Millésime Bio, which is the most important ecological wine fair in Europe, to be held from 28 to 31 of January, and in which we will be present.
As you know, in Sierra Norte we have been growing our vineyards in an ecological way for more than 30 years. This is how our grandparents began to do it, our parents followed, and we, the third generation, continue on that same line of ecology and sustainability, making the most of such scarce and precious resources as, for example, water; leaving a natural green mantle that conserves soil moisture and generates its own ecosystem; allowing the herds to graze on them and fertilize it; and trying as little as possible in the crop. Always attentive, but letting nature make its way.
And in this environment is where we make wines such as the Mariluna that have stood out in the Challenge Millésime Bio 2019. Then we tell you a little more about them.
Mariluna blanco, a Verdejo born in the Mediterranean. With high aromatic intensity, the nose is fresh, with notes of white flower, citrus and apricot. Good step by mouth, friendly, with good acidity, complex and unctuous. Of great personality and long post-taste.
Mariluna red, born of two grapes with great personality: Tempranillo and Bobal. With six months of aging in barrels, it has a powerful aroma of ripe fruit, cocoa, toasted notes and sweet spices. Good structure in mouth, silky, tasty and spicy, with well integrated acidity and long aftertaste of red and roasted fruit.
Now you just have to put a glass and enjoy them.
