We are already in Ferevin! Waiting for everyone to enjoy tasting good wine and eating the gastronomic wonders that you can find in this region. Because FereVin is the Requenense Wine Fair and in addition to cultural and patrimonial agenda, wine and gastronomy occupy an important part.

We are in the fairground, in our Sierra Norte stand, where we are surrounded by vineyards and in the company of the wines that we elaborate with great care and affection, among them, the three champions of this year in the awards FereVin: Cerro Bercial Blanco Selección, our white wine with barrels, Pasión de Bobal, our most famous red wine, and Fuenteseca, young and ecological. These three super wines have won three gold medals, prizes that we have collected today at the opening of the fair.

FereVin is a great opportunity to try these wines, if you do not know them yet. Also to take them home, because it is also possible to buy them at our stand. Two of them, Pasión de Bobal and Cerro Bercial Blanco Selección, will be the protagonist in the tasting organized by Cajamar Caja Rural and FereVin, in the session on Friday, August 24 at 13:00 hours.

And now, we present you a little more closely the three award-winning wines:

CERRO BERCIAL BLANCO SELECCIÓN, VINTAGE 2016

Is a very special white because it is matured in barrels, which is something unusual in whites. The time spent in the barrel is two months, where it is given a slight stir on its fine lees. The result is a straw yellow wine, bright with an excellent combination of citrus aromas, white flower and soft toasted memories. Spacious, enveloping, creamy palate, fresh acidity and interesting evocative persistence. The grapes chosen for its production are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Macabeo.

PASIÓN DE BOBAL RED, VINTAGE 2016

Pasión de Bobal is our monovarietal made with the star grape of the region. In its preparation it spends six months in first use French oak barrels. It is a red cherry wine that brings good red and black fruit to the nose, such as strawberries, raspberries and cassis, very well served by an accompaniment of creamy and light toasted oak, some spiced touch and some licorice. The palate is very tasty, fruity, spherical tannins, good acidity and light touches of vanilla, smoke and toast. A wine that falls in love, and a lot.

FUENTESECA RED, VINTAGE 2017

Fuenteseca red is young, ecological and has a lot of personality. Even being young, it is a very round wine, and this is because of the micro-oxygenation and the use of more mature fruit, so that the tannins are sweeter. In tasting, Fuenteseca is intense cherry red with cardinal reflections. The fruit load is intense and of good persistence. The palate is kind, broad and fruity. Of fresh palate with a remarkable tannin and a spicy sensation that presides over the palate.
