Equilibrio 9 (PDO Jumilla) has won a gold medal and Pasión de Bobal red (PDO Utiel-Requena) a silver medal in the Asia Wine Trophy, the most relevant contest in the Asian market. In it, a jury made up of experts from the main exporting countries of Asia has tasted more than 4,000 wines. The notoriety that has reached this contest denotes the interest that the wine sector is winning in the Asian continent, mainly in China and Japan.

The award-winning wines, both monovarietal, also contribute to the Mediterranean autochthonous varieties, such as Bobal and Monastrell, which are known and enjoyed by an audience that is demonstrating its desire to know different grapes and elaborations marked by terroirs, altitudes and specific climatologies of each producing area.

Equilibrio 9 is a wine in which all the protagonism is taken by Monastrell, from old vineyards over 40 years old. The vineyard, located in the places La Raja and Casa del Olmo, in Jumilla, offers us every year a reduced but high quality harvest, which allows us to have an exceptional raw material. With it we elaborate this highly fruity wine that impacts in all phases of the tasting and that in the mouth is tasty, with volume, frank and persistent. This wine has also recently obtained 92 points in the list of the critic James Suckling, whose opinions are taken into account in Asia and America. Equilibrio 9 has a mixed aging in second filling barrels, 60% French oak and 40% American oak, for nine months.

Pasión de Bobal red is the most awarded wine of Bodega Sierra Norte, to the many golds awarded to its last vintage, the silver of the Asia Wine Trophy is now added. This wine is 100% Bobal, a native grape from Utiel-Requena and some areas of the Manchuela. If this grape is special, more is what we grow in Bodega Sierra Norte, given the location of our vineyards, located at 920 meters altitude, in the highest area of the region, which delays its maturation and gives it a personality different by the microclimate of the area. The Bobal used in the elaboration of Pasión de Bobal comes from vineyards over 60 years old. In its elaboration, the wine performs the malolactic fermentation in 100% French oak barrels of first use and ages in it until 6 months.
